Hailing from a middle-class family, Lakshmi’s life is upended when she realises that her marriage to Rishi Oberoi, an industrialist’s son, is a sham to keep his death at bay.
Lakshmi saves someone's life by leaving her marriage rituals aside. The family leaves for Lakshmi's wedding and an untoward incident happens. Lakshmi's aunt Rano breaks her alliance for her wealth.
Rano suggests to her husband a plan to usurp the wealth. Laxmi unwillingly moves to Mumbai with her sisters, uncle and aunt and gets into trouble. Later, Lakshmi runs into Rishi.
